THE CLUB

At Manor Park, club members enjoy many club competitions, singles, pairs, triples, or teams of four. We also play many friendly inter club competitions, home and away, either ladies, men’s, or mixed. It’s usual to socialise after these matches as detailed below.

The clubhouse is usually open to members and guests to have a cup of tea and a biscuit after a roll up, and to socialise with other members.  We have a bar selling beers, wines and spirits as well as soft drinks.

After an inter club match, or a club competition, food is often provided for each of the teams while the captains or president give out the score. Each member of the winning rink is usually rewarded with a small prize, e.g. a scratchcard or lottery ticket.

Various social nights are organised during the closed season entailing members to keep in touch with each other.

A presentation dinner takes place in November, where the winners of the various competitions are presented with their trophies.

As well as competing in competitions we hold a number of special days and fun days at the club where you can try to win a variety of prizes. These days are as much about taking part as winning. We also occasionally have barbeques in the evening after these days especially in the summer!

Clubhouse

Our clubhouse seats over forty people (enough for five rinks of eight people). After an inter club match, it is customary for the teams to sit together with their opponents to socialise and have tea or supper. We do all of our own catering, and help in the kitchen is always appreciated.

The picture above shows our clubhouse set out ready for tea after an inter club game.
